Jacqueline Cheung
Jacqueline is a second-generation Chinese-Thai Canadian whose own journey has involved navigating bicultural expectations and understanding what it means to be both BIPOC and queer in a Western society. These experiences deeply inform her work and her commitment to creating an affirming space for individuals to explore their voice, identities, relationships, and challenges. Jacqueline works with individuals and families of various ages, supporting them through grief, life transitions, mental health concerns, addictions, and other challenges.
Jacqueline’s counselling approach is guided by relational and strengths-based principles. She believes life’s challenges are inherent to being human. Her aim is to support individuals and communities to feel more connected, fulfilled, and able to live with greater acceptance and flexibility.
She carries this same value into her ongoing learning about reconciliation and equity, recognizing the importance of disrupting traditional systems of power and creating approaches that respect self-determination and community voice.
She works collaboratively to create a non-judgmental space where different perspectives and possibilities can emerge. Jacqueline values genuine connection, inclusive care, and self-compassion.
