Funding & Coverage

  • Sessions are not typically covered by extended healthcare plans. Individuals may be eligible for funding from external funding bodies, such as WorkSafe BC and funding for autism/other disabilities.

  • Many extended health insurance plans offer coverage for counselling services provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

After each session, you will receive an invoice that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check directly with your insurance provider to confirm whether your plan includes counselling services offered by an RCC.

  • Music Therapy and Family Counselling/Therapy are recognized as Autism-Related Interventions. The Ministry of Children and Family Development offers funding that can cover Music Therapy and Family Counselling/Therapy for children ages 6–18.

Families can choose to have funds deposited into their account to pay the therapist directly, or therapists can invoice the Ministry on their behalf. This funding ends once the child turns 19.

  • Other financial supports may be available for families. Additional information can be found here and by contacting your local CYSN office.

  • Recognizing that financial barriers are real and often tied to systemic inequities, we offer sliding-scale rates for individuals and families. If standard fees feel out of reach, please contact us so we can work together to find a rate that reflects your situation.
